Important Information for our Premium Travelers!

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID is a new, optional, and free service using facial recognition to expedite security, allowing you to breeze through checkpoints without showing a physical ID or boarding pass. It makes the process faster by using a "walk up, walk through" method, saving time in crowded airports. *For those of you who have experienced the "walk up, walk through" Global Entry process, you are already familiar.

How It Helps at the Airport:

  • Convenience: Your face serves as your identification. No need to fumble for your ID document or phone boarding pass at the initial TSA checkpoint.

  • Efficiency: Enables faster passage through security, often using a dedicated, shorter queue. *Let's face it, regular TSA pre-check lines have gotten long.

  • Security: Uses advanced biometric technology for enhanced identity verification.

How to Use It:

  1. Opt In: Ensure you have a TSA PreCheck membership (including Global Entry/NEXUS) and a passport.

  2. Update Profiles: Add your KTN (Known Traveler Number) and passport info to your airline frequent flyer account and select the "opt-in" option in your airline's app (American, Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska).

  3. Confirm on Boarding Pass: When checking in, ensure the "Touchless ID" indicator appears on your mobile boarding pass.

  4. Use Specialized Lanes: Look for signage directing you to the specific TSA PreCheck Touchless ID lane at participating airports.

Important Notes:

  • Always bring your physical ID: Even if you use the system, it is mandatory to have your physical ID on hand as a backup.

  • Privacy: *We all know someone who doesn't want their facial recognition out there. TSA ensures images are not used for law enforcement and are deleted within 24 hours of flight departure.

  • Available on Many Major Airlines: Supported by carriers such as Delta, American, and Southwest.
