World's Coolest Summer Yet — And Your Kids Are Going to Lose Their Minds
Summer 2026 at Walt Disney World is not playing around. Disney has officially launched Cool Kids Summer — running May 26 through September 8 — and it is absolutely packed with brand-new experiences, reimagined rides, limited-time shows, and deals that make this one of the best times in years to take the family to Orlando.
We got the inside scoop straight from Jodi Bainter, Vice President of Domestic Leisure Sales for Disney Destinations, and we're breaking it all down for you right here.
🎉 The Deals Are Actually Really Good This Summer
Before we get to the fun stuff — let's talk money, because Disney has stacked the offers this summer in a way they don't do year-round.
Right now you can take advantage of:
Kids Dine Free at Walt Disney World Resort hotels
Free water park access upon arrival for resort guests
Exclusive summer ticket offers — better than anything available the rest of the year
Special resort rate packages for families staying on property
Translation: if you've been waiting for the "right time" to take your family, this is genuinely it. And as your travel advisor, we can help you put together a package that maximizes every single one of these perks. Reach out to us before these offers expire.
🐨 Animal Kingdom — Bluey Has Entered the Building
If you have a toddler or young child in your life, prepare yourself. Bluey and Bingo are officially coming to Animal Kingdom starting May 26.
Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station is a full interactive experience — take the Wildlife Express Train, play games from the show (yes, including Keepy Uppy 🎈), meet the sisters for photos, and visit Jumping Junction to see animals native to Australia.
Also new at Animal Kingdom: Zootopia: Better Zoogether! — a brand-new 4D show starring Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. It's lively, it's fun, and it's perfect for kids who are Zootopia obsessed.
🌍 EPCOT — Goofy Gets a DJ Set (Seriously)
GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall is back for summer — and it is exactly as chaotic and delightful as it sounds. Goofy and crew host a high-energy dance party with a DJ, silly games, and playground activities designed specifically to let little kids completely burn off energy. Parents, you're welcome.
Also at EPCOT: Soarin' Across America, a stunning new film celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary. It replaces "Around the World" and is a must-see for families who love that classic attraction.
🎸 Hollywood Studios — The Muppets Took Over the Roller Coaster
This one is a big deal. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster has been fully reimagined — and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are now your hosts. The ride features a rotation of five different songs, so no two rides are exactly alike. The debut soundtrack includes collaborations with Jennifer Hudson, Questlove, Def Leppard, and Kelly Clarkson. Yes, really.
More at Hollywood Studios this summer:
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! — A brand-new stage show where kids can "Mousekedance" with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. It's adorable and the little ones will be completely obsessed.
The Walt Disney Studios Lot Courtyard — Animation Courtyard has been completely reimagined into a shaded studio lot with an indoor playground called "Drawn to Wonderland" inspired by Once Upon a Studio. Hidden character statues throughout — great for a scavenger hunt with the kids.
🏰 Magic Kingdom — Classics Made Even Better
Magic Kingdom is delivering some of the most exciting updates of the summer:
Big Thunder Mountain is back after a refurbishment with new trains, new tracks, and a smoother ride. The height requirement is now 38 inches — meaning younger kids can join the fun sooner. Bonus: guests get a sneak peek of the massive area Disney is clearing for future Magic Kingdom expansion. 👀
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is upgraded with updated blasters, interactive targets, and a new guide character named Buddy.
Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue is a limited-time Toy Story-themed show at the Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland — music, dancing, and interactive games.
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Parade closes out your evening with a breathtaking nighttime parade using high-tech floats and stunning lighting. This one is worth staying late for.
🏨 Stay at a Cool Kids Summer Hub Resort
Four Disney resorts have been designated as official Cool Kids Summer hubs this year — and they come with some seriously sweet extras:
Pop Century
Art of Animation
Caribbean Beach
Port Orleans Riverside
Staying at one of these resorts gets your family access to character pajama parties, bedtime story hours, and infant-focused room amenities. For families with very young children, this is a game-changer.
